Procedure A person applying will be sent a brochure, a covering letter and two questionnaires A and B requesting particulars of oneself. Both questionnaires A and B can be downloaded here and should be completed as honestly and as accurately as possible. They should then be returned, addressed to the Secretary, Knock Marriage Introductions, Knock, Co. Mayo. They should be accompanied by two full length postcard size photographs taken within the last twelve months. Passport size photographs will not be accepted. A payment of €150 must accompany all applications. This entitles an applicant to one year’s membership which allows them to receive a number of introductions if necessary. If a suitable introduction has not been made within a twelve month period a candidate can reapply but must renew their subscription of €150. Should someone withdraw their application, all photographs and questionnaires are returned to the applicant or destroyed. On the basis of the information received we will do our best to secure suitable introductions, taking into consideration general background, education, interests, etc. and then Form B which does not contain a name or address and with an accompanying postcard size photograph, are exchanged between the male and female applicants for their consideration. Should the introduction not make progress, whoever decides to end it should inform the other frankly of her or his decision. This office should then be informed and both parties can receive further introductions. It is not our practice to introduce people from the same parish and preferably only those over 25 years of age. Since its foundation in 1968 Knock Marriage Introductions has been a real success story with 900 marriages to its credit – this year 2012 has seen ten marriages take place. We look forward to the future and helping people find suitable marriage partners and assure all applicants that they will be treated with courtesy and kindness and every effort will be made to facilitate them.
