Procedure

Would you like to meet a marriage partner?

Maybe we can help you.  The Knock Marriage Introductions Bureau,
authorised by the Archbishop and Bishops of Connacht, was established
in 1968 under the patronage of Our Lady of Knock.

The purpose of the Bureau is to help Catholics to meet suitable prospective
Marriage partners.  As this is a branch of Catholic Action, it is presumed
that all applicants are practising Catholics, free to marry and definitely
seeking a catholic marriage.  In 2008 98 men and 118 women applied to the
bureau for introductions. An age breakdown on this was as follows, in the
20 to 45 age group there were applications from 63 men and 94 women.
A breakdown by provinces for 2008 is as follows: Connacht 48 men
and 37 women;  Leinster 19 men and 37 women; Ulster 10 men and
14 women; Munster 21 men and 25 women. There were 3
applicants from the UK and one each from the US and France.

No definite promise can be made that all those who apply
to the Bureau WILL find a life partner; but all who register
can rely on the Bureau doing its utmost to help them.
No addresses are divulged by the Bureau to either person
concerned in an Introduction.  No introductions are
suggested between people from the same parish.
All applications are treated in strictest confidence.
All correspondence is in plain sealed envelopes.
